9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Join us for this one day event as we come together to strategize around native plant material development in Central Arizona. Participate with other land managers, botanists, conservation organizations and community stakeholders as we work together to ensure a reliable supply of appropriate genetic materials for restoration.

GOAL: To share information and have dialogue on the use of native plants in restoration; to increase production of local native plant material to serve growing restoration needs; to encourage the removal of key invasive plant species in the Sonoran Desert.

FORMAT: Two-part panel discussion on native plant propagation, growing techniques, transplanting, seed disbursement as well as invasive plant removal guidelines and ways to prevent key invasive plant species from spreading.

PANELISTS: from a variety of backgrounds will include a native seed librarian, a native seed vendor, restoration ecologists, representatives from the county, city and state agencies and botanists.

BREAK-OUTS: Attendees will divide into small groups with morning panelists leading discussions on specific topics of interest.

RECONVENE: To share insights, conclusions, and a vision for the future.
